The Residence Life Office has announced recent honors, including the selections of LaNae J. Firster as "Resident Assistant of the Month" and Ashley L. Snyder as "Rising Star RA." Firster, a data communications and networking major from Franklin , is in her third year as a Resident Assistant at the Rose Street Apartments.
Students in the Culinary Senior Project class visited Freshlife Wellness Center in Loyalsock Township on Nov. 9, where they toured the store and attended a seminar on guided imagery. In Clive Webster's first year as an actor, he took part in 50 different plays in 52 weeks, both as an actor and a director. He has worked in or performed in nearly every major playhouse in London and now brings his talent and experience to Penn College! The college community is encouraged to catch his performance at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the ACC Auditorium.
Once again, Information Technology Services alerts the Penn College community about widespread e-mail scams that target customers of well-known businesses such as Citibank, eBay and PayPal. Some even appear to come from the information technology department of the college.

Wielding rakes, leaf bags and paint rollers, Penn College students descended upon the Williamsport YWCA for a Saturday afternoon of community service. The students organized by K. Dex Tuttle, assistant director for programming in the Student Activities Office raked and bagged leaves at the 815 W. Fourth St. facility and repainted traffic lines.
The director of instructional technology and distance learning at Pennsylvania College of Technology recently earned her doctoral degree. Jennifer McLean completed her Ph.D. in education at the Minnesota-based Capella University with a specialization in teaching and learning.
Applied Controls Inc. presented a half-day workshop Friday in the College Avenue Labs for faculty and students in electronics and manufacturing majors, as well as for representatives of local manufacturing companies.
Ian Devenish, director of co-op program and industry liaison for engineering students at Central Queensland University in Rockhampton, Australia, toured Penn College's School of Industrial and Engineering Technologies on Friday morning. He was set to tour other schools in the afternoon.
