Penn College's alliance with its third-party provider of refund-management services was featured in a recent edition of University Business. Headlined "It's not easy winning over a skeptic," the article details the college's partnership with Higher One to handle electronic refunds to students.

The Student Government Association held a Silent Auction at Penn's Inn (CC, second floor) Wednesday. Open bidding was from noon-6 p.m. Light refreshments were served at 5 p.m.; winning bids were announced at 7 p.m. Auction items ranged from unique student work, other one-of-a-kind items, and services from organizations and small businesses in the surrounding community.

Tuesday's "Party With the Wildcats" event was a winner, with more than 200 people meeting the players and coaches of the spring sports. "There was a lot of fun, with each sport having a game to play, and people had a chance to go in the money booth and grab up to $50," said Lisa J. Worth, athletic assistant, noting other prizes were awarded throughout the evening.

Student members of Pennsylvania College of Technology's Collegiate Association for County Correctional Education completed a library-enhancement project at the Lycoming County Prison. The CACCE members worked to collect, organize and redistribute a variety of new, high-quality textbooks that were donated by the faculty and staff of Penn College.

Judy Quinti, assistant professor of fitness and lifetime sports at Pennsylvania College of Technology, was an invited speaker at the National Strength and Conditioning Association's Personal Trainers Conference.

EarthSmart, the Penn College environment and biology club, conducted its semiannual highway cleanup Tuesday in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. "It was a beautiful, sunny afternoon out on Northway Road Extension," co-adviser David L. Evans said.

"Precision Heavy Equipment Operational Efficiency," a course provided through Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Pennsylvania College of Technology, will be offered April 3 and May 22 at the college's Schneebeli Earth Science Center near Allenwood. The four-hour noncredit course will be offered on both days from 1 to 5 p.m. in Room 159 of the Earth Science Center. The cost is $125.

Pennsylvania College of Technology's Residence Life Office has announced the latest selections in its ongoing program to recognize outstanding campus leaders and the work they do on behalf of their fellow students.

Pennsylvania College of Technology's North Campus, located just east of Wellsboro, will host an open house on Monday, April 27, for those interested in nursing as a career. The 6 to 7:30 p.m. event will feature information sessions about the application process, tuition and financial aid. Visitors will be able to view the nursing lab and classroom, as well as attend sessions at 6 or 7 p.m.
