For the second year in a row, a student in the Athens Area School District who will attend Pennsylvania College of Technology after graduation has been selected as the recipient of the Peggy Madigan Memorial Leadership Scholarship. A selection committee has chosen Matthew J. Delp, RR2 Ulster, as the 2009 recipient of the scholarship award, named in honor of the late wife of former state Sen.
