An Emergency Medical Technician course that begins the week of Aug. 19 is accepting registrations. Offered by Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Workforce Development, the course will prepare students who are interested in enrolling in Workforce Development’s paramedic certificate program starting on Jan. 6, 2025. The Emergency Medical Technician course will be offered at three locations. Seating is limited.

Offering an overview of the numerous career pathways in the home energy efficiency industry, Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Clean Energy Center lab in Latrobe hosted an open house on Wednesday at its 7,500 square-foot facility at Westmoreland Airpark. The event gave attendees opportunities to watch live demonstrations of home energy efficiency technologies and network with employers and workforce development experts.

Penn College at Wellsboro’s Practical Nursing Program will host two open houses with information sessions: Thursday, Feb. 29, and Thursday, March 21. The 6:30 p.m. events will be held at Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Wellsboro campus, 22 Walnut St. The sessions will also be connected to the Potter County Education Council through Zoom.

After a three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Sekisui Kydek opened its Bloomsburg operation to more than 100 secondary and vocational school students and their faculty chaperones this fall for Manufacturing Day – an immersive exploration of the vast career opportunities available in polymer engineering at which a five-member Pennsylvania College of Technology team actively participated.
