The Pennsylvania College of Technology men's soccer team learned a tough lesson Wednesday night that coach Andy Richardson hopes will pay dividends one more time this season.

The Pennsylvania College of Technology men's soccer team will host Penn State Hazleton at 6 p.m. Wednesday in an Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference/Pennsylvania Collegiate Athletic Association semifinal match.

On the last day of the regular season Tuesday, the Penn College men's soccer team beat Harrisburg Area Community College while Northampton Community College beat Penn State Hazleton. That put Penn College into the playoff driver's seat as the top seed. The Wildcats will host fourth-seeded Harrisburg at 1 p.m.

Confidence can make or break a team, and, after struggling for much of the season, the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's soccer team heads into Wednesday's Pennsylvania Collegiate Athletic Association playoff at 5 p.m. at Penn State Abington finally playing up to its potential.

Over the years, Pennsylvania College of Technology athletic teams have had their share of success, but nothing has come close to matching the achievements of the past week. Competing in the Commonwealth Campus Athletic Conference for the first time, six Penn College teams went into finals in four sports and five came out winners.

It's one thing to have talent, and another to make that talent work for you. Pennsylvania College of Technology golf coach Chet Schuman did both this season and the reward was not one, but two championships.
