Pennsylvania College of Technology's male and female compound archery teams closed out the indoor portion of their season in fine fashion with first-place finishes in the Eastern Regionals and second-place finishes at nationals.

To say that the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's bowling team dominated the recent Pennsylvania Collegiate Athletic Association championships would be an understatement. For the first time in school history, every member of the squad came home with either a first or second place finish in each of four categories and produced state champions in three of them all-event, doubles and team.

Last fall, the Pennsylvania College of Technology baseball team advanced to the semifinals of the Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference. This spring, coach Mike Stanzione would like to take his team one step further. "(In the fall) we had a lot of depth on our team. We had 10 reliable pitchers, two people for each position and defensively we were sound.

Pennsylvania College of Technology archers took two state team championships and had an individual state champ at the Pennsylvania Indoor Championships in late January. Results were just recently posted.

A new league and new opportunities in athletics are creating excitement at Pennsylvania College of Technology. This fall, Penn College, a special mission affiliate of Penn State, will join Penn State's Commonwealth Campus Athletic Conference and athletes competing on Wildcat men's basketball and women's volleyball teams gain four-year eligibility. And when you talk about the "heavyweights" in collegiate archery, you can add Pennsylvania College of Technology. "Penn College has a great program," assessed Coach Chad Karstetter. "Just being in the area of Pennsylvania that we are, we seem to have the potential already here.

Pennsylvania College of Technology is coming off one of its most successful fall sports seasons ever, during which two teams won state championships and 25 individuals have been awarded post-season all-state or all-conference honors. Penn College women's basketball coach Jeff Chamberlin is quick to admit that there are more negatives than positives facing this year's team. Yet, he remains optimistic.
