Postseason play continues for six Pennsylvania College of Technology fall sports teams this week. All six are competing in the Commonwealth Campus Athletic Conference playoffs for the first time, while the College's cross country teams also are participating in the Pennsylvania Collegiate Athletic Conference finals.

While the Pennsylvania College of Technology golf and cross country teams prepare to go deeper into postseason play next week, the College's baseball, women's volleyball and men's soccer teams are set to get their first taste of playoff action.

The Wildcat golf team repeated as Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate ConferenceNorth team champion and finished at 320 to win the12-team EPCC Regional Championship at Golden Oaks County Club in Fleetwood on Monday. Penn College's Shaun McQuaywas the medalist in the regional win with a five-over-par 77.

A short regular season for the Pennsylvania College of Technology golf team was shortened even further as three of five scheduled matches were canceled by rain. But coach Chet Schuman remains optimistic as his team heads into tournament action next week. "It's unfortunate, because we've got a really good group of kids," Schuman said of the washouts.

A mandatory meeting of Penn College's coed bowling team will be held at 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4, in the Field House. Members who were announced Thursday on the basis of tryouts earlier in the week should contact Lisa Worth, bowling adviser (by calling ext. 7860 or by e-mail), if unable to attend.

New Kensington never gave up, but the Penn College Wildcats dominatedTuesday's women's volleyballmatch to take it inthree games: 30-15, 30-23, 30-24. "The absolutely perfect back-row play of Maria Bova set the precedent (including 13 digs)," said coach Bambi Hawkins.

On Friday, Sept. 24, Penn College hosted an Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate ConferenceInvitational Tournament at White Deer Golf Course in Allenwood.Penn College extended its win steak to 55, with 10 wins this year. The medalist for the tournament was Brandon Smith (Wellsboro), who shot a one-over-par 73.
