Tara M. Powell Outside hitter Tara M. Powell, of Burgettstown, was named the Penn State University Athletic Conference women’s volleyball Player of the Week for the period ending Sept. 16.  In four games, Powell racked up 35 kills and 37 digs for the Wildcats.

The past week was a great one for Pennsylvania College of Technology fall sports teams. Through Sunday, they won nine events and lost just twice, while three of them learned they are ranked among the top 20 in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association.

During action Saturday, the college’s women’s soccer team opened with a win, the men’s soccer team dropped its opener and the women’s volleyball squad lost two matches.
