For the third straight year, the Pennsylvania College of Technology archery team is No. 2 in the nation. During competition over the weekend (May 18-20) at the U.S. Intercollegiate Archery Championships in Harrisonburg, Va., the Wildcats of first-year coach Brian Parker had two individual champions and four team champions.

Pennsylvania College of Technology, in conjunction with the Penn State University Athletic Conference, has announced the recipients of the Winter/Spring 2012 All-Academic Team award. The award is given to student-athletes with a GPA of 3.0 or better in the semester of competition. This year, 34 student-athletes made the grade, five more than last year’s class.

The Penn State University Athletic Conference released its end-of-the-year awards for baseball Wednesday and eight Penn College players made the cut. Highlighting the strong showing was senior Skylar Gingrich (Lititz) who was named Player of the Year after ending the season leading the PSUAC in batting average (.443), RBI (53) and home runs (8).

  The United States Collegiate Athletic Association announced the recipients of its end-of-season awards Sunday and senior Skylar Gingrich (Lititz) and sophomore Cody Buterbaugh (Conestoga) made the list of honorees. Gingrich was named a First Team All-American, becoming only the fourth Wildcat baseball player to do so.

"We leave Saturday on a 13-hour bus trip. We'll head over to see where Abe Lincoln grew up and then we'll see if we can't win a few ballgames," Pennsylvania College of Technology baseball coach Chris Howard said as his team prepared for next week's United States Collegiate Athletic Association Small College World Series.

The Spring 2012 Athletic Banquet was held Sunday in the Mountain Laurel Room of the Thompson Professional Development Center, honoring Penn College's student-athletes for accomplishments both on the court/field and in the classroom. Scott E. Kennell, athletic director, gave opening remarks, and coaches took to the podium to honor their respective squads.
