Pennsylvania College of Technology held its Summer Commencement ceremony at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport. Andrew R. Christoffel, of Lancaster, awarded a bachelor’s degree in environmental technology management, was student speaker for the event.

Pennsylvania College of Technology hosted its 10th annual residential SMART Girls (Science and Math Applications in Real World Technologies for Girls) program July 11-15. Thirty-six girls participated in the program, which is for young women entering ninth and 10th grades.

About 300 new students and their families attended the first Connections orientation program for the Fall 2009 semester, held June 24-25 across Pennsylvania College of Technology's main campus.

The Community Arts Center offered a dazzling venue for the Governor's Arts Awards on Wednesday, the keystone event in a weeklong cultural celebration throughout the city.

With the Governor's Arts Awards just around the corner, a group of students affirmed Penn College's membership in the Greater Williamsport arts community, presenting an energetic production of "tick, tick "¦BOOM!" an autobiographical musical by Jonathan Larson, the creator of "Rent" in the Klump Academic Center Auditorium on Friday and Saturday.
