More than 160 Pennsylvania College of Technology students have petitioned to graduate in Summer Commencement ceremonies to be held Saturday, Aug. 9, at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport. Wendy A. Cunningham, Montoursville, will be the student speaker for the ceremonies, which will begin at 11 a.m.

W'rg, a town of 127,000 in Northcentral Bavaria, is about 2 1/2 hours from Munich by train. The students will attend the W'rg University of Applied Sciences, a technical college.

Two Pennsylvania College of Technology competitors took home second-place medals in the national SkillsUSA Championships held recently in Kansas City, Mo. The SkillsUSA Championships showcase the best career and technical students in the nation, with more than 4,000 participants competing in 75 separate events. Students at Pennsylvania College of Technology soon will be able to use their student identification cards to pay for purchases at dining units, the College Store, vending machines and laundry rooms on campus, as well as commercial restaurants nearby.
Twelve students enrolled for the Fall 2003 semester at Pennsylvania College of Technology have been honored as "Presidential Scholars" for academic excellence and service to their schools and communities. In addition, three adults who are returning to the classroom have been selected as "Penn College Scholars" for their achievements.
