Robin J. Gordon, a Pennsylvania College of Technology student enrolled in the dental hygiene: health policy and administration major, was awarded a scholarship from the American Dental Hygienists' Association Institute for Oral Health. Gordon, of Duryea, was named a recipient of the Crest Oral-B Laboratories Dental Hygiene Scholarship for the 2011-12 academic year.

Two students in the School of Hospitality at Pennsylvania College of Technology were selected by faculty to receive the school's "Award of Excellence," which included an educational trip to New York City, where they toured some of the city's fine restaurants and hotels. Three Pennsylvania College of Technology students were among the medalists at SkillsUSA's 47th annual National Leadership and Skills Conference held June 19-24 in Kansas City, Mo. The state budget signed late Thursday by Gov. Tom Corbett includes more funding than anticipated for Pennsylvania College of Technology. Penn College President Davie Jane Gilmour had said that, if the governor signed the budget as submitted, the bulk of the fundswould help the college reduce the 2011-12 tuition increase for students to 2.99 percent.

Pennsylvania College of Technology students garnered 11 awards including Best of Show in the International Graphic Arts Educators' 2010 Gutenberg Awards competition.
