The 13th annual Sealant Saturday event, held March 21 in Penn College's dental clinic, was very successful (and busy). Dental hygiene students provided free services to 56 children between the ages of 6 and 15, and placed 290 sealants. All children also received a fluoride varnish treatment.

Penn College's Plastics Innovation & Resource Center is included in a five-minute video being shown this week at NPE: The International Plastics Showcase in Orlando, Florida. As the result of a slow ground thaw, Pennsylvania College of Technology has had all of its home baseball and softball games postponed through the end of the month, but the college’s men’s tennis and golf teams are expected to open this week as scheduled. And the archery team "put on a good show" as it recently closed out the indoor season.

A cake inspired by Frank Sinatra’s “Come Rain or Come Shine” took the top prize in Pennsylvania College of Technology’s annual cake competition. The theme for the March 3 contest was “Love Songs.” The cake was designed by Kelsey L. Park, of State College, whose winning techniques included pulled-sugar roses, piped “cornelli lace,” hand-piped lettering and fondant piano keys.
