Five student teams from Pennsylvania College of Technology battled it out Oct. 8 at the Williamsport Growers Market, using the best ingredients – fresh and locally produced – to determine the best student chefs of the morning. The two-man team of Cy C. Heller and R. Colby Janowitz were the top finishers in a tough competition. It was not the students’ first exposure to culinary competition.

Two construction management majors at Pennsylvania College of Technology attended the recent Women in Construction Leadership Seminar at Kiewit Corp.’s headquarters in Omaha, Neb. Lauren S. Herr, of Lititz, and Juliann M. Reazor, of Schuylkill Haven, applied to participate in the all-expenses-paid trip designed to develop the leadership skills of collegiate women.

Students in Penn College’s exercise science major joined Judy Quinti, assistant professor of exercise science, in loading a delivery of sports equipment for Firetree Place, a community center just a few blocks from Penn College.

Penn College dental hygiene students are applying their extensive hands-on skills in a newly renovated clinic. The 5,300-square-foot facility, dedicated in late September and featured in a video on college's YouTube channel, features advanced technology and continues the college's tradition of offering low-cost dental care to the community."The clinic has made an amazing transformation.

More than 250 people from throughout Williamsport are expected to participate in the eighth annual Greater Lycoming Out of the Darkness Community Walk hosted by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Central Pennsylvania chapter and Pennsylvania College of Technology. The walk will be held at Penn College on Saturday, Oct. 22, with registration starting at 5:30 p.m.
