Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Student Nurses’ Association raised nearly $1,500 for the American Cancer Society on March 29 when it hosted its first “Glow Walk.” The group surpassed its goal of $1,000 for the first-year effort. Despite damp weather, walkers looped the campus mall as the sun set, wearing glow necklaces and glasses provided by the American Cancer Society.

An Aviation Camp has been added to the already-captivating roster of fun, interactive and hands-on summer camps that reflect the distinctive career opportunities offered at Pennsylvania College of Technology. The signup deadline is May 11, for the 11 overnight camps and one day camp.

On March 29, Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Student Nurses' Association will host a “Glow Walk” to benefit the American Cancer Society. The walk is scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the college's main campus in Williamsport.

Tia G. La, a pre-physician assistant major from Guam, has been chosen as the December/January “Student of the Month” at Pennsylvania College of Technology. A former student photographer for Public Relations & Marketing and a Community Peer Educator with Student Affairs, she also volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters and has given of her time at Susquehanna Health (now UPMC Susquehanna).

Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Physician Assistant Program has been named the recipient of the college’s 2017 President’s Award for Outstanding Assessment of Student Learning. Employees of the program received the honor Jan. 5 at the all-college meeting that opened the Spring 2018 semester.

One of Pennsylvania College of Technology’s largest academic schools, the School of Health Sciences, has a new dean, assistant dean and assistant dean of nursing. Sandra L. Richmond Sandra L. Richmond, formerly assistant dean of nursing, has been appointed dean of the school. She succeeds Edward A. Henninger, who becomes special assistant to the provost, taking on project-based work.

Hundreds of thousands of visitors will soon flock to the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center to celebrate the commonwealth’s leading industry, and Pennsylvania College of Technology students and employees will be on hand for an interactive peek into the real-world applications of “degrees that work.”
