Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Plastics Innovation & Resource Center trained 14 industry professionals representing 10 companies during a recent Rotational Molding & Advanced Materials Workshop. Sponsored by M. Holland Co., the two-day session focused on establishing the link between material preparation, molding and final part quality. It also explored the latest advancements in industry-available materials.

The Plastics Innovation & Resource Center at Pennsylvania College of Technology delivered training to eight industry professionals during the recent Color Science & Weathering Workshop. The three-day course covered the critical parameters and considerations for coloring plastic materials and focused on weathering technology and evaluation methodologies. Sponsored by Penn Color Inc., the sessions featured lectures and extensive hands-on experience in Penn College’s industry-standard labs.

Axalta Coating Systems Ltd. is increasing its longstanding support of Pennsylvania College of Technology. A leading global coatings company, Axalta has committed to an annual $15,000 donation of paint and related supplies for the next five years, benefiting collision repair and automotive restoration students

Among the many end-of-academic-year field trips enjoyed by Penn College students, a group of diesel and electric power generation students visited Cleveland Brothers Equipment Co.’s Ebensburg rebuild facility.

Ten Pennsylvania College of Technology students were recently awarded financial assistance through the Allan Myers Corporate Scholars program. Allan Myers, one of the mid-Atlantic’s largest heavy civil construction firms, is a decades-long supporter of the college and its “tomorrow maker” students.

The Physical Therapist Assistant Recruitment Day, held recently in the atrium of the Breuder Advanced Technology & Health Sciences Center, connected a number of employers with the Penn College talent they are seeking. The event was among 12 major-specific recruitment opportunities organized by Career Services during Spring 2025.

Pennsylvania College of Technology landscape/plant production technology students are reaping the rewards they earned at the 49th annual National Collegiate Landscape Competition, held recently at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. Penn College’s contingent of 18 students achieved an excellent showing in the three-day event, placing 18th out of 54 schools, thanks to top finishes by seven students.

Ernie Dojack, of Concrete Countertop Solutions, recently provided information and live demos to concrete science technology students enrolled in a Decorative Concrete class. Dojack, who has 15-plus years in the industry, showcased the difference between cast-in-place concrete countertop systems and precast concrete countertop methods and products.

A group of industrial design students from Pennsylvania College of Technology recently toured Globus Medical, a leading orthopedic medical device company headquartered in Audubon. The students are enrolled in their major’s Medical Device Design class, taught by instructor Catherine A. Krawiec, a former employee of Globus Medical’s spine division.

The third annual Rotorfest, held this month at Pennsylvania College of Technology, brought more than 500 K-12 students and educators to campus to learn about the college’s emergency management & homeland security major and interact with a wide range of emergency response professionals.
