WNEP's Chris Keating visited Penn College's Parkes Automotive Technology Center on Tuesday afternoon, interviewing an instructor and student about the automotive program's expanded EV curriculum. The ABC affiliate's Central Pennsylvania Bureau reporter talked with Charles F. Probst, the faculty member teaching the college's new Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Technology course, and Sheldon C. The first floor of the Davie Jane Gilmour Center, typically abuzz with traffic to and from the student-centered offices on either side, briefly catered to a younger crowd on Halloween morning: a parade of trick-or-treaters from the Dunham Children's Learning Center. Dressed as different colors of Play-Doh, the groups moved from station to station, filling their bags with sweets donated by employees of various Penn College offices – many in costume and all having just as much fun as the kids!

Mason Chapman, added to the Penn College men's basketball roster last month through a partnership with Team Impact, joined his family, teammates and coach for Monday's broadcast of WBRE's "PA live!" In two segments taped in the NBC affiliate's Wilkes-Barre studio, the group talked about Mason's acceptance into the program – which pairs special-needs children with collegiate sports teams – and the Wildcats' recent observance of Blindness Awareness Month.

Halloween arrived early at Penn College, where assorted members of the Wildcat "Boo!" crew satisfied sweet-tooth dreams and opened the door to their darker counterparts. Ushering in the shadowy midnight hour were Student Engagement's Fall Fest on Oct. 21 (moved indoors due to foul weather) and Wildcat Costume Party on Oct. 28, the American Welding Society student chapter's ghastly (and annually anticipated) Arc Asylum, and Residence Life's beloved Trick or Treat Night at The Village on Oct. 29.

A Thursday open house, overlapping with continuation of People & Culture's Engagement Series, combined to better acquaint students and employees with Penn College Police. The events provided a well-organized presentation of community resources, including the West Branch Drug and Alcohol Abuse Commission, Lycoming County Crisis Intervention Services, state Sen. Gene Yaw's office, the Student Government Association, the Williamsport bureaus of fire and police, and the city's Special Response Team.

In collaboration with North Central Sight Services and in solidarity with their new teammate, Mason Chapman, the Penn College men's basketball team observed Blindness Awareness Month on Friday evening. At the close of their practice, players put on blindfolds for a dribbling drill to experience what it would be like to play without sight.
