In a year-end message to the campus community, President Davie Jane Gilmour commended the daily contributions of Pennsylvania College of Technology employees toward the institution's century-old purpose. “We celebrated 100 years of making lives better – our students’ and our own," the president said, commemorating the past and contemplating the future.
Distinguished Staff Awards and related honors were presented at ceremonies commemorating Employee Recognition Week at Pennsylvania College of Technology. In addition to Distinguished Staff Awards, Penn College President Davie Jane Gilmour bestowed awards for Excellence in Academic Advising and Part-Time Teaching Excellence.

Chalmer Van Horn, a retired faculty member who taught engineering drafting for nearly three decades at Pennsylvania College of Technology and its two predecessor institutions, has endowed two scholarships at the college, including one that honors the memory of his wife of 56 years, Ruth Ann.
More than 900 Pennsylvania College of Technology students have petitioned to graduate at the completion of the Spring 2014 semester, and the college has scheduled three ceremonies May 16-17 for those who will march at commencement.
