The Marcellus Shale Workforce Resource Center officially opened Thursday with ceremonies held at Pennsylvania College of Technology. The center, located inside Penn College's Center for Business & Workforce Development, provides a centralized location for industry, students and the public to obtain information regarding Marcellus Shale workforce-development initiatives.
All faculty, staff, alumni and students who currently serve or are veterans of the nation's military are invited to a Veterans Day Recognition event during the Wildcat women's basketball game against Valley Forge Military Academy at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, in Bardo Gymnasium.
The School of Hospitality hosted Austrian wine expert Andreas Wickhoff on Penn College's main campus this week. Throughout his stay, Wickhoff talked with classes about wine pairing and the flavors and origins of Austrian wine. Wickhoff, managing director of Premium Estates of Austria, travels the world to promote wines of Austria's top producers.
A "Rose Street Got Talent" showcase, in which students competed for prizes while spectators enjoyed a fall-themed dinner buffet, was held Oct. 21 in Dauphin Hall. More than 80 Airframe and Powerplant mechanics attended a nine-hour Inspection Authorization Renewal seminar held Saturday at Penn College's Lumley Aviation Center in Montoursville. The Federal Aviation Administration requires aircraft mechanics holding inspection authorization credentials to receive several hours of training each year.
