Pennsylvania College of Technology announced the winners of its annual Food Show, which included a chocolate house auction that raised $1,600 for the Greater Lycoming Habitat for Humanity. The Food Show included about 80 entries from students in seven advanced culinary arts and baking and pastry arts courses, and all seven courses were judged by culinary arts professionals from across the region.

Pennsylvania College of Technology will hold a commencement ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 18, for the 380 students who have petitioned to graduate following the Fall 2010 semester. The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. in the Community Arts Center, 220 W. Fourth St., Williamsport. The student speaker is Eric D.

Outreach for K-12 and the Penn College Admissions Office hosted the College and Career Readiness Conference on Wednesday for 71 teachers, counselors and secondary school administrators.

The Penn College Construction Association and The College Store took home top honors among student organizations and campus offices, respectively, as the winners of the college's holiday card-decorating contest were announced in the traditional lighting ceremony Wednesday night.

The Student Athlete Advisory Committee sponsored a canned-food drive during the past week, culminating in Monday's men's and women's basketball games in Bardo Gymnasium. The student-built Victorian House on Penn College's main campus was featured along the Victorian Christmas Tour, held from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday as part of Williamsport's 12th Annual Victorian Christmas weekend. A short synopsis of the Victorian House, including recipes from the School of Hospitality's Chef Paul Mach, was distributed to all ticketholders.

The General Services warehouse on Reach Road was abuzz with seasonal cheer, artistic fervor and the occasional hum of power tools Wednesday as Penn College offices and student organizations constructed larger-than-life holiday cards to be installed Monday on main campus.
