CLOOS Robotic Welding Inc. is renewing an entrustment agreement with Pennsylvania College of Technology for robotic welding equipment used for instructional purposes. CLOOS, a Corporate Tomorrow Maker at Penn College, has partnered with the college for entrustments since 2014. The latest renewal runs for two more years. It features the company’s QRC 320 upright robot with a V9 controller.

High Steel Structures LLC has donated nearly $100,000 worth of welding scrap to Pennsylvania College of Technology for instructional use in the college’s welding and metal fabrication programs. High Steel Structures has fabrication facilities in both Lancaster and Williamsport.

The manufacturer of high-power industrial diode lasers for metal processing and other applications has entrusted a 2-kilowatt laser power source to the college since 2019.

A Pennsylvania College of Technology student is one of two nationwide recipients of a scholarship for those seeking to shape tomorrow through a career in engineering. Emerson, a global technology and engineering company, awarded a $5,000 scholarship to Kolin R. Limburg, of Fairless Hills, through its ASCO Engineering Scholarship Program.

BAE Systems Inc. has provided $10,000 in grant support for welding materials to be used in welding and metal fabrication programs at Pennsylvania College of Technology. The company is a longtime partner of the college’s welding program, recruiting students for operations in its York manufacturing plant.

Ten Pennsylvania College of Technology students – including three who graduated in December – obtained state Department of Agriculture Pennsylvania Pesticide Applicator Certification after testing during the fall semester. “This definitely will give the students an advantage over others entering the workforce, as many employers look for this type of certification,” said Carl J.

Regional Boy Scouts can enhance their technical acumen, thanks to faculty mentors and state-of-the-art instructional facilities at Pennsylvania College of Technology. In conjunction with the Susquehanna Council, Boy Scouts of America, the school is hosting Merit Badge College on Saturday, Feb. 19. Scouts can select from 19 merit badges and earn up to three during the event.

Pennsylvania College of Technology presented Kevin L. Imes with a Distinguished Alumni Award at Fall 2021 Commencement. Imes, of Palmyra, a construction project manager at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health, earned an associate degree in building construction technology and a bachelor’s degree in construction management from Penn College in 2003 and 2007, respectively.
