Friday's designation as "National Food Bank Day" serves to remind the Penn College community that The Cupboard – a food pantry on the first floor of the Bush Campus Center (Room 105H, at the rear of CC Commons) – is in operation this fall. Hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Cupboard is closed Saturdays and open from 4 to 6 p.m.

Pennsylvania College of Technology recently became one of 94 colleges and universities across the nation to become part of the FARE Food Allergy College Search database. The database is operated by FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education).

Watch for Peach Farro in CC Commons. Ramen Noodles with Gochujang Beef and Sweet & Sour Tempura Chicken is headed for the Capitol Eatery menu. Dining Services' Donna L. Cole helps show students what's on the horizon.

With Mardi Gras just around the corner, a serving of Creole cuisine is in fashion. Historical tidbits adorn the table, enlightening diners to the accomplishments of such notables as Olympian Maria Mutola. Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson (left) and chemist Lloyd Augustus Hall are among the depicted heroes of STEM, seemingly keeping their eyes on the culinary prize.

For the third consecutive year – and the fourth time overall – Student Affairs at Pennsylvania College of Technology has been honored as one of “The Most Promising Places to Work in Student Affairs” by the publication Diverse: Issues in Higher Education.

Faculty and staff in the Penn College nursing program adopted The Cupboard for the holidays. The Cupboard is an on-campus food pantry for students, operated by Dining Services. Organized by Pamela W. Baker, assistant professor of nursing, the two-week food drive yielded 181 food items and $150 in cash. During the Fall 2019 semester, almost 90 students visited The Cupboard to obtain food.

Student Development Assistants from the office of Institutional Advancement engaged the campus community in various “give thanks” initiatives throughout the month of November.  They teamed up with Dining Services encouraging peers to “paw” it forward at various campus eateries by donating their flex or declining meal-plan dollars, all in support of The Cupboard and the battle against hunger.

A pair of traditional events helped kick off the holidays Thursday: a festival of Fall Family Fun at the Dunham Children's Learning Center and Penn College’s annual free Thanksgiving dinner. Parents and grandparents attended the center's celebration, held each fall in joyful appreciation as the semester draws to an close.
