The family of a former Pennsylvania College of Technology student who died in a traffic accident in 2005 has established a scholarship fund at the college in his memory. The Penn College Foundation has received a donation to establish an endowment for the Joshua R. Geary Memorial Scholarship. The endowment is expected to produce $2,000 in annual awards.

Pennsylvania College of Technology hosted its spring Visiting Chef Series from Feb. 17-19, welcoming Chef DeJuan Roy, executive chef of 95 Cordova at the historic Casa Monica Hotel in St. Augustine, Fla. While at the college, Roy worked alongside School of Hospitality students, sharing his expertise as they prepared a benefit dinner that concluded the stay.

The Internal Revenue Service's free Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, in which Pennsylvania College of Technology students annually prepare hundreds of returns for area taxpayers, will offer two by-appointment-only sessions for Northern Tier residents this season. The program will be offered from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, and from 1 to 6 p.m.
