Pennsylvania College of Technology students again are volunteering their time to help qualified individuals as they prepare their 2013 income tax returns.

On March 6, the public is invited to view “Destination Wedding”-themed cakes as part of a cake competition for Pennsylvania College of Technology students. Eight students enrolled in an advanced-level cake decorating course spend about 18 hours of class time on their three-tiered, fondant-covered cakes.

A Pennsylvania College of Technology student is the recipient of a $4,000 scholarship through The Pennsylvania State University LGBTA Student Resource Center for his work to ensure that the campus, a special mission affiliate of Penn State, is a “welcoming and friendly place” for all students. The college hosts skills contests in plumbing ... ... commercial baking ... ... precision machining ... ... and even nail care. Penn College was the site for more than 30 skills competitions Friday as faculty joined representatives from business and industry to help facilitate and judge the SkillsUSA District 6 competitions.

The start of the year brings a first for Pennsylvania College of Technology: the selection of twin brothers as Students of the Month. Chosen for the Student Government Association honor are Cody E.
