A winter tradition has resumed in Harrisburg, as Pennsylvania College of Technology employees and students serve up an assortment of activities and attractions at the Pennsylvania Farm Show. Representatives of Penn College's six academic schools take turns staffing a booth at the sprawling complex through Jan.

A chocolate house made by Milton resident Ching Chan received the Chef Eugene Mattucci Best of Show Award in the annual Food Show at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Chan is a student in the college’s baking and pastry arts major.

The traditional end-of-the-year showcase of final projects by students in Pennsylvania College of Technology’s School of Business & Hospitality was held Friday in the Thompson Professional Development Center’s Mountain Laurel Room, from hors d’oeuvres and ice sculptures to desserts, cakes and the always-anticipated chocolate houses auctioned to benefit Greater Lycoming Habitat for Humanity.

Pennsylvania College of Technology will host its annual chocolate house auction on Friday, Dec. 6, to benefit Greater Lycoming Habitat for Humanity. Eleven chocolate houses, ranging from log cabins and Christmas cottages to reindeer stables and Willy Wonka’s house, will be sold in silent auction at the School of Business & Hospitality’s annual Food Show.

Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Robert and Maureen Dunham Children’s Learning Center was approved for four years of federal grant funding to help provide child-care access to parents pursuing higher education at the college. Generally referred to as a “CCAMPIS” grant, which stands for “Child Care Access Means Parents in School,” the funding comes from the U.S.

Bethany M. Reppert, an applied human services major from Pottsville, has been chosen as the Student of the Month at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Reppert is a member and secretary of the Students Making a Contribution organization, a student mentor and a part-time employee at the college's Madigan Library. Bethany M. A chemistry faculty member at Pennsylvania College of Technology recently served as an invited speaker in a seminar at West Virginia University in Morgantown, W.Va. Kelly B. Butzler, associate professor of chemistry, was invited to present “Flip Your Class! A Paradigm Shift for Teaching in the 21st Century” at a seminar hosted Oct. 24 by the university’s department of physiology and pharmacology.
