Chelsey L. Wayman, an accounting major from Rome, was chosen as April's Student of the Month by the Student Government Association at Pennsylvania College of Technology. "Chelsey has been indispensible to TRiO Student Support Services, where she is a peer tutor and coach," her nominator wrote of the Spring 2009 semester's final honoree.

Ball, of Sandy Ridge, accepted the Student Leader Legacy Scholarship award at the 2008-09 Student Activities Awards Banquet on April 29. Ball is a graduate of Philipsburg-Osceola Senior High School.

Just days from its Thursday deadline and impressively at 85 percent of its lofty goal, a Penn College student organization got a pep talk from Williamsport Mayor Gabriel J. Campana as it continues its food drive to aid the area's needy. The mayor attended a Students in Free Enterprise meeting, applauding the group for working so diligently for the economic betterment of its neighbors.

Two Pennsylvania College of Technology chapters of honor societies including the charter members of an organization for business administration students held separate induction ceremonies Saturday in the college's Thompson Professional Development Center. Alpha Chi At 1 p.m., 19 new members were welcomed into the Pennsylvania Xi Chapter of Alpha Chi, a national baccalaureate honor society.
