Haas Automation Inc., of Oxnard, Calif., recently entrusted two pieces of equipment to Pennsylvania College of Technology, bringing its total to four since 2004. The company has provided the college with two pieces of CNC (computer numerical control) machine tools a TM1 toolroom mill and a TL1 toolroom lathe, along with the accessories to support the equipment for two years.

Pennsylvania College of Technology student Richard L. Carpenter has been awarded the Bracalente Manufacturing Scholarship for 2005-06. Carpenter, of Ulysses, is pursuing an associate degree in toolmaking technology and has been named to the dean's list at Penn College several times.

Applied Controls Inc. presented a half-day workshop Friday in the College Avenue Labs for faculty and students in electronics and manufacturing majors, as well as for representatives of local manufacturing companies.

Four Penn College faculty members recently presented a continuing legal-education seminar on "Identity Theft" to members of the Lycoming Law Association. Rhonda L. Davis, assistant professor, legal assistant;and Kevin R. Derr and Walter J. Landen, professors, legal assistant; spoke on legal issues related to this majorcriminal and economic problem. Eric K.
