Two Pennsylvania College of Technology students were selected to participate in the National Institute of Standards and Technology's Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship, in which they will gain experience in hands-on research alongside world-recognized scientists. Students David M. Blumenfeld, of Lincroft, N.J., and Matthew C.

The third episode of the award-winning "degrees that work." television series, a co-production of Pennsylvania College of Technology and WVIA-TV, is set to premiere on the public-television station at 7 p.m. on May 17. The "degrees that work." series is designed to build awareness of careers that may not be familiar to the public but offer ample career opportunities.

Bradley A. Yohn, of Shade Gap, on track to graduate with five degrees earned in just three and a half years, has been chosen as the March "Student of the Month" by the Student Government Association at Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Hollingsworth, associate professor of machine tool technology and automated manufacturing at Pennsylvania College of Technology, was recently nominated by a former student for inclusion in "Who's Who Among America's Teachers and Educators." His biography will appear in the 11th edition of the book, which honors about 5 percent of the nation's teachers.

Pennsylvania College of Technology's Society of Manufacturing Engineers student chapter recently toured two Pennsylvania companies the Benton Foundry on Oct. 12 and the Perryman Co. on Nov. 2. The Benton Foundry, located about 40 minutes away in Benton, mixes and pours its own compositions of iron and steel according to customer requirements.

A donation of hardware and software from Kepware Technologies will allow students at Pennsylvania College of Technology to be among the few in the country to gain experience on a system that enables the smooth exchange of data between various automated industrial devices and control applications.

A six-student team from Pennsylvania College of Technology recently tested its Mini Baja off-road vehicle against 140 other college and university teams at Rochester Institute of Technology.

A team of six Pennsylvania College of Technology students who have dedicated uncounted hours of free time to preparing their Mini Baja vehicle for competition will take it on the road to Rochester, N.Y., in early June. The students will compete against 140 other college teams at a Society of Automotive Engineers-sponsored event June 7-10.
