Pennsylvania College of Technology bestowed honors upon three alumni of the college and its predecessor institutions during Spring 2012 commencement ceremonies held May 11-12 at the Community Arts Center, Williamsport. Fifteen Penn College horticulture students and instructor Carl J. Bower Jr. recently took a field trip to the gardens of the Smithsonian Institution and the U.S. Botanical Garden in Washington, D.C. While there, the group met with Sarah A. Tietbohl, a 2005 floral design/interior plantscape alumna and a 2006 graduate in technology management.

Team SchuPa will run the Rivertown Half Marathon in Danville on May 5 to support the Chester D. Schuman Scholarship, memorializing Penn College's longtime admissions director and golf coach. Some of the team members are pictured with members of the Schuman family, sporting the team T-shirt designed by the Schumans' daughter, Lauren, a 2005 Penn College graduate.

Pennsylvania College of Technology students from two academic areas were collaborators in providing covers to protect working surfaces on milling machines in the college's Machining Technologies Center.

Erin M. LaCerra, who graduated in May with a degree in human services, will be among exhibitors during downtown Williamsport's First Friday celebration of the arts on April 6. LaCerra whose talents include painting, drawing, music and jewelry-making will hold a reception at 7 p.m. in Barrel 135, 135 W. Third St.

The nearly four-minute video highlights Ryan M. Black, a 2005 graduate of the automotive technology management bachelor-degree major.

From March 3-11, the School of Construction and Design Technologies participated in the Pennsylvania Home Show at the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg. The venue offered a twofold opportunity: to showcase Penn College majors to prospective students and their families, and to network with alumni visitors and contractors.
