The Penn College intramural basketball team hosted its Lycoming College counterpart Wednesday night in Bardo Gym, hoping to sweep a season that began with a flag football victory last fall. Penn College started out slow, missing its first eight shots; Lycoming did not do much better, missing seven of its first eight. Five minutes into the game, Lycoming led 5-0.

Two by-appointment-only opportunities for free tax assistance have been scheduled at Pennsylvania College of Technology's North Campus near Wellsboro. The Internal Revenue Service's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, in which Penn College students help prepare hundreds of income-tax returns each season, will be available from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

After being blanked at the Pennsylvania Collegiate Athletic Association bowling tournament a year ago, Pennsylvania College of Technology returned to the winners' circle over the weekend with two state championships.

For the second year in a row, the Pennsylvania College of Technology men's basketball team is in the Penn State University Athletic Conference Final Four. The Wildcats will face Penn State Wilkes-Barre at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Penn State's Bryce Jordan Center. The winner of that game plays for the championship at 9 a.m. Wednesday, also at the Jordan Center.
