Senior Garrett Hornung (Emporium) was named the United States Collegiate Athletic Association and Penn State University Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week for the period ending April 1. Hornung helped lead the Wildcats to a 6-2 week, batting .583 (14-24) with 11 runs and four RBI.

Pennsylvania College of Technology and Mount Nittany Medical Center recently entered a three-year clinical affiliation agreement. The agreement provides for use of the hospital's radiology department for clinical instruction for students enrolled in the college's associate-degree radiography major.

All three organizational entries in Penn College's inaugural "Canstruction" anti-hunger benefit will go on to international competition on the basis of the contest judges' decisions announced at an awards reception Monday evening.

This past week was the biggest in history for the Pennsylvania College of Technology men's club lacrosse squad, which faced four nationally ranked teams in as many days. In the first game Thursday, the Wildcats jumped out to a 11-5 halftime lead against local rival and #27-ranked Lock Haven University, and held on to win 11-9.

Forestry Field Day was held Monday at the Schneebeli Earth Science Center near Allenwood, giving 15 students from three schools the opportunity to see the nature-trail system, log yard and sawmill. The students representing Wellsboro and Bald Eagle high schools and West Branch Christian Academy also competed in Dendrology, Forest Mensuration, a Forestry Quiz Bowl, and Lumber and Log Scaling.

Debra A. Buckman, assistant professor of chemistry and environmental science at Pennsylvania College of Technology, participated on a panel discussion on the role of educators in teaching about Marcellus Shale. The discussion was part of the annual conference of the Pennsylvania Association of Environmental Educators.
