The Bison Battalion (the Bucknell University-based ROTC program comprising Bucknell, Bloomsburg and Susquehanna universities, Penn College and Lycoming College) recently completed a two-day field training exercise, the purpose of which was to prepare cadets for their careers as Army officers.
A Boeing 727-200F aircraft from FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) made its final descent Wednesday onto the runway at the Williamsport Regional Airport. Celebration of this landing and tremendously generous donation to Pennsylvania College of Technology took place at the college's Lumley Aviation Center. A tour of the aircraft followed its arrival.

Anita Gibbons and her late husband, Brian "J.B." Gibbons, played an important role in the expansion of Pennsylvania College of Technology when their family designed, developed, constructed and fully leased Campus View Apartments in 1989. Anita Gibbons operated the complex from 1989 until 1997, when the family sold Campus View, along with the former PBI industrial site, to the college.

Parents often worry but don't always share with others their concerns about how ready their sons and daughters are to enter college. Highly motivated students may stay focused academically throughout high school, but many distractions can draw teenagers' attention away from academics at a time when it is important for them to prepare for the rigor of college-level classes.
Pennsylvania College of Technology baseball and softball teams went 1-2 against NCAA Division III teams last week as they prepare for the start of Penn State University Athletic Conference action. Baseball The Wildcats scored their second win over a Division III team in two weeks when they edged Wilkes University, 7-6, on Tuesday.

About 25 students in forestry instructor Jack E. Fisher's Wildlife Management class got hands-on exposure to birds of prey, as Master Falconer Cheri Heimbach returned to the School of Natural Resources Management this week. One of about 150 falconers in Pennsylvania, Heimbach brought along a Barbary Falcon, a Red-tailed Hawk, an Eagle Owl and a Harris's Hawk.
