A recent donation of computer-aided manufacturing software is enhancing the education of Pennsylvania College of Technology students. SolidCAM has provided a one-year, 75-seat license for the college’s manufacturing majors. The software is an add-on to SolidWorks, a prominent 3-D design and analysis program used for the development of parts and assemblies for manufacturing products.

John J. Messer A campus memorial service for John J. Messer, an assistant professor of web and interactive media who died Jan. 5 at age 49, will be held from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, April 18, in the Mountain Laurel Room of the Thompson Professional Development Center.

The Courtyard Theater Alumnus Kevin A. Hickman, whose theatrical credits include directing Penn College productions of "The Vagina Monologues" and "Proof" during the 2006-07 academic year, is in the cast of "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" this weekend at the Courtyard Theater in the Susquehanna Valley Mall.

Glen Forest Getchen Jr., a member of the Williamsport Area Community College and Penn College faculty for 29 years, died Thursday, April 2, at the age of 89. Getchen, who came to campus after 22 years as a tool and die maker at Darling Valve, retired in 1993 as an assistant professor of toolmaking technology.
