In his first visit since taking office in January, Pennsylvania Gov. The final activities of Penn College's illustrious Centennial observance – the filling, sealing and installation of an institutional snapshot from that 2014 celebration – took place this week in a first-floor corner of Madigan Library. Various historical and commemorative items were loaded into the time capsule on Thursday, and the contents were sealed with argon gas the following day.

SGA Student Government Association officers for 2015-16 were chosen last week in an election that saw a record turnout of Penn College student voters. A total of 233 votes were cast during the weeklong balloting, 84 more than last year and 48 votes higher than any other year in SGA's history of online voting. Eight first-place winners from Pennsylvania College of Technology have advanced to the 51st annual National SkillsUSA Conference, to be held from June 22-26 in Kentucky. Five other students from the college finished in the top four places in a variety of categories during the SkillsUSA Pennsylvania Leadership and Skills Conference held April 8-10 in Hershey.

Pennsylvania College of Technology’s reigning Alumni Sweethearts, Bradley T. and Janae B. (Rohrer) Rydbom, visited campus this past weekend to stay overnight in the Victorian House and dine in Le Jeune Chef Restaurant.

A 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Super Sport restored by Pennsylvania College of Technology students for the Antique Automobile Club of America won a First Senior Award – the first for the college – during the club-sponsored Charlotte AutoFair in North Carolina. “The award is a great recognition of the efforts of our students and faculty,” said Brett A.

The Pennsylvania College of Technology Woodsmen Team participated in an April 11 regional competition at Allegany College of Maryland, with many of the members placing in their respective events. “This is the first team we’ve had since 2010, and this was their first meet,” said G. Andrew Bartholomay, an assistant professor of forest technology. “I couldn’t be prouder of how they performed.
