The machines are 300-amp, advanced industrial systems that facilitate multiple welding processes.
“These Fronius machines provide the latest and greatest technology that industry is offering right now. The machines are a vital part of the hands-on training we do here at the college. Without this entrustment, the students would not have the opportunity to use this technology,” said Michael R. Allen, instructor and co-department head of welding.
All welding students who complete a two- or four-year degree will operate the units in the college’s 55,000-square-foot welding facility.
“We are grateful to Fronius for their continued and generous support of our welding program,” said Shanin L. Dougherty, senior corporate relations officer. “This cutting-edge technology is instrumental in preparing our students to be successful and workforce-ready graduates.”
Headquartered in Portage, Indiana, Fronius USA is a Penn College Corporate Tomorrow Maker and member of the Millionaires Society ($1,000,000+) on the college’s Donor Wall.
“We believe in making sure the next generation of welders and engineers has the technology available to not only succeed but excel during their education,” said Jasen Friedrich, USA director of sales and marketing for the Perfect Welding business unit at Fronius USA. “The welding and fabrication engineering technology program at Penn College has nothing but a stellar track record for producing beyond-capable engineers, which is why we have employed so many here at Fronius USA.”
