Penn College video wins silver Telly Award

A Pennsylvania College of Technology video celebrating the institution’s workplace and culture has won a silver Telly Award in the 47th annual international competition that honors excellence in video and television across all screens.

“Why Penn College is More Than a Campus – It’s a Community of Tomorrow Makers” earned the silver Telly in the non-broadcast/general-workplace culture category. Mixing faculty and staff interviews with campus footage, the inspirational video shares the passion of employees for the college’s mission and its students. The office of People & Culture highlights the video on its website to showcase the college to prospective employees.

“The video is a wonderful introduction to Pennsylvania College of Technology for prospective applicants for employment from near and far, capturing what truly makes Penn College stand out as a higher education institution and employer,” said Hillary E. Hofstrom, vice president for People & Culture. “At Penn College, it is the people who make all the difference, and that spirit shines through in every frame.”

A Pennsylvania College of Technology video highlighting the institution’s workplace and culture has won a Silver Telly Award in the 47th annual international competition. The winning video celebrates the college’s dedication to its employees and its standing as a national leader in applied technology education.

Tom Speicher, writer/video producer, conducted the interviews and produced and edited the video. Christopher J. Leigh, video producer, and Braxton A. Shope, assistant video producer, provided vital production support. Carlos Ramos, director of web development & digital innovation, offered pre-production assistance.  

“This Telly Award showcases the creative talent our video team brings to sharing the Penn College story,” said Katie Bell, vice president for strategic marketing and communications. “The video not only tells our story, but also reflects the energy, collaboration and shared sense of purpose that define who we are as a community.”

The Tellys received nearly 14,000 entries from creators, brands and production companies spanning 55 countries. Entries in a variety of categories were judged by over 250 leading experts from advertising agencies, production companies and major television networks.

Warner Bros. Discovery, Paramount Television, FOX Entertainment, ABC News, Mayo Clinic and Harvard Business School are among this year’s winners.
