SGA President Chandra S. Apker, a human services & restorative justice student from Williamsport, offers remarks during the organization’s April 3 Silent Auction.

For the second consecutive year, the Student Government Association’s silent auction set a new fundraising record: $6,344.

The annual event raises funds for the Student Leader Legacy Scholarship, which is awarded annually to students who display exemplary leadership in the Penn College community. The next recipients of the scholarship will be announced during the Student Engagement’s annual awards banquet later this month.

SGA provided the following message of gratitude:

The Student Government Association is proud to share that this year’s Silent Auction was a tremendous success, made possible through the collective effort, dedication and teamwork of everyone involved. From SGA members to campus clubs and organizations, each person played an important role in bringing the event together.

We are especially grateful for the guidance and leadership of our advisors, Kyle (W. Kern, coordinator of student success) and Mallory (L. Weymer, director of student engagement), whose support was instrumental throughout the process. We also extend our sincere thanks to our on-campus and off-campus partners, sponsors and donors, whose generosity and enthusiastic participation, both in contributions and bidding, truly made this event possible.

Beyond the logistics, the Silent Auction’s success is reflected in its impact. Seeing firsthand how scholarships benefit students has been especially meaningful, inspiring continued commitment to making a difference.

Overall, this event highlights the power of collaboration and community, and we are incredibly thankful to everyone who helped make it such a rewarding and impactful experience.
