All four degrees are offered within the School of Engineering Technologies.
“We are very proud to obtain ABET accreditation, which is considered the gold standard for engineering and technology programs,” said Bradley M. Webb, dean of engineering technologies. “ABET accreditation signifies that our programs are excelling in equipping students to be leaders in industry and in their communities. Penn College students truly are tomorrow makers.”
ABET accreditation assures that a program meets standards to prepare graduates to enter critical technical fields, where quality, precision and safety are of the utmost importance. Professionals from academia, industry and government – with expertise in the ABET disciplines – conduct the accreditation process.
Developed by technical professionals from ABET’s member societies, ABET criteria focus on what students experience and learn. Program curricula, faculty, facilities and institutional support are examined during the review.
“Our faculty and assistant deans work diligently every day to ensure that our programs meet the rigorous standards established by ABET,” Webb said. “The students and their future employers are the beneficiaries of that dedication.”
Penn College's Bachelor of Science in electronics & computer engineering technology, Bachelor of Science in welding & fabrication engineering technology, and Associate of Applied Science in welding technology are also accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET.
