Students and faculty in Pennsylvania College of Technology’s diesel technology major join FedEx representatives Gregory Moser (seventh from right) and Dustin Schmerge (sixth from right), both senior managers for district fleet maintenance, around a Kenworth T680 semitrailer truck donated by FedEx to the college for students’ hands-on education.

FedEx, a longtime supporter of Pennsylvania College of Technology’s diesel technology major, donated a 2014 Kenworth T680 semitrailer truck for students to utilize in a variety of hands-on diesel courses.

“FedEx consistently supports our diesel technology program through advisory board, accreditation visits, diesel competitions and truck donations,” said Justin W. Beishline, corporate relations officer. “The trucks they have donated over the years have been used by countless diesel students as training aids to learn technical skills.”

“We are grateful that FedEx values technical programs and sees the opportunity to repurpose their trucks for educational use after they have served their life on the FedEx fleet,” Beishline added. “But most importantly, we are proud to see our graduates start amazing careers with FedEx.”

One of those graduates is Gregory Moser, senior manager, district fleet maintenance. Moser graduated from Penn College’s diesel technology major in 1999.

“FedEx is in dire need of diesel technicians all over the United States,” Moser said. “Penn College has produced a lot of great technicians for us over the years. We want to support the school so they can continue to produce these quality technicians for us to hire in our shops.”

FedEx is a member of the college’s Corporate Tomorrow Makers program, a collaboration between Penn College and organizations who share a passion for hands-on learning that prepares skilled employees for in-demand careers. FedEx is also a member of the Golden Society ($500,000-$999,999) on the college’s Donor Wall.
