The student speaker for the ceremony is Samir Khalid Pringle, of Philadelphia, who will receive an Associate of Applied Science in business management. Pringle, who is continuing at Penn College in Spring 2024 to pursue a Bachelor of Science in business administration with a minor in marketing, will also receive the President’s Award for leadership and service to the college.
Pringle is a Presidential Student Ambassador, a Lenfest Scholar and a Resident Assistant at the college, and he served previously as a Connections (student orientation) Link. His extracurricular involvement includes serving as president of United Campus Ministry, vice president of finance for the Student Government Association and as a member of the Black Student Union.
During the ceremony, the college will present a Distinguished Alumni Award to Jim Riedel, who is national product training manager for Subaru of America. Riedel, of Westville, New Jersey, earned a Bachelor of Science in automotive technology management in 2007 and an Associate of Applied Science in automotive technology in 2006.
Penn College President Michael J. Reed will be joined by state Sen. Gene Yaw, chair of the college’s Board of Directors, in conferring degrees and certificates upon the graduates.
