“Penn College was the ideal place for our cadets to have their first Cadet Conference since 2019,” said Col. William A. Schlosser, commander of the Pennsylvania Wing of CAP and an instructor in Penn College’s emergency management and homeland security major. “By all accounts, it was a huge success, and many cadets are now looking to Penn College as a place to further their education because of their experiences with our faculty."
In addition to Schlosser, Penn College faculty and staff who lent their expertise were Korey T. Keyser, aviation maintenance instructor; Betty Anne Leiby, simulation laboratory coordinator, nursing education; Craig A. Miller, professor of history/political science; John A. Nappi, paramedic programs coordinator; and Michael R. Robison, aviation instructor.
Founded in 1941 to mobilize the nation’s civilian aviation resources for national defense service, CAP, an auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force, has evolved into a premier public service organization that carries out emergency service missions when needed – in the air and on the ground.
The organization also promotes aviation and related fields through aerospace and STEM education and shapes future leaders through its cadet program.
