Pennsylvania College of Technology, in conjunction with the Penn State University Athletic Conference, has announced the recipients of the Fall 2001 All-Academic Team award. The award is given to student-athletes with a grade-point average of 3.0 or better in the semester of competition.

Pennsylvania College of Technology has named Chris Lemasters the new interim head coach of the men's basketball program. "Chris brings a wealth of experience as botha player and coach to our program," said athletic director Scott Kennell.

With the holiday break behind it, Pennsylvania College of Technology winter sports teams are set to resume their seasons. The men's basketball team hosts NCAA Division III Wilkes University at 7 p.m. Thursday, the women's basketball squad hosts Penn State Fayette at 1 p.m. Saturday and the wrestling team travels to Penn StateBeaver, also at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Eight Pennsylvania College of Technology women's volleyball players were honored recently during the college's fall sports banquet.

Seven students on Penn College's Martial Arts Club team were promoted to the next belt level during Saturday's Martial Arts Seminar and Kyu Exam at the Field House. Head coach George Vance said the students Mathew D. Johnson, Cory L. Buckles, Kyle M. Zechman, Morgan A. Olbrich, Madelyn M. Lanoue, Philip T. Le and Michael J. Gardner did an excellent job.

Playing at home on Saturday, Pennsylvania College of Technology men's and women's basketball teams closed out the fall semester portion of their seasons with losses. Both teams now are idle until early January. Flashback Men's BasketballThree players scored in double figures, but it wasn't enough to keep the Wildcats from dropping a 105-68 decision to Penn State Beaver.

Freshman Scott Fenton (Dickson City) was named the Penn State University Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for theperiod ending Dec. 4. Fenton averaged 18.5 points per game in a 1-1 week including a season-high 22 points against Penn State Mont Alto helping the Wildcats to their first win of the season. He also totaled 14 rebounds, three steals and three assists.
