The men's and women's basketball teams kicked off Healthy Heart Month with a "Red Out" in Bardo Gymnasium on Tuesday night. Penn College sophomore Tyler C. Myers (Centre Hall) was named the Penn State University Athletic Conference "Wrestler of the Week" for the period ending Jan. 29. Myers competed at the Jamestown Open in Jamestown, N.Y., on Saturday, placing third in the 157 weight class and going 4-1 at the tournament. Myers is 10-7 on the year with four pins.

As if scoring a team-high 12 points in a winning cause against University of Pittsburgh-Titusville wasn't enough, senior Casey L. Braun was honored during Saturday's game as the lone 2012 graduating member of the women's basketball team.

The Student Athlete Advisory Committee held a game-day promotion at Wednesday's women's basketball game, honoring the Penn State University Athletic Conference champion cross-country and men's soccer teams. It was the ninth consecutive PSUAC championship for the cross-country runners, four of whom were named to this year's all-conference team.

Senior Day recognition, accorded all graduating student-athletes in Penn College sports, was held this past weekend for wrestling the first time since its reinstatement as an intercollegiate sport.
