The Pennsylvania College of Technology wrestling team offered the lone bright spot for winter sports teams over the past week as it won one of two matches, while the men's and women's basketball teams both went 0-3. Five cross-country runners and two women's volleyball players from Pennsylvania College of Technology were named United States Collegiate Athletic Association Academic All-Americans. USCAA Academic All-Americans must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher to earn the accolade.

A Veterans Day recognition ceremony was held during Saturday's basketball game between the Lady Wildcats and The Apprentice School. John C. Carlson, a Penn College alumnus and 22-year Navy veteran, served as master of ceremonies for the halftime observance in Bardo Gym.

Seasons ended last week for the Wildcat men's cross-country and women's volleyball teams and began for the wrestling and men's and women's basketball squads. Men's Cross-Country The Wildcats of coach Mike Paulhamus finished seventh in a 15-team field in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association national championships at Lake Placid, N.Y.

The Penn College Wildcats' 2011-12 basketball season opened Thursday with back-to-back home games against Central Penn College. There were numerous giveaways, and students had the opportunity to sink a half-court shotand win a $200 declining-balance meal plan from Dining Services.

The Penn State University Athletic Conference announced its men's soccer all-conference selections this week and four Pennsylvania College of Technology student-athletes made the list.

Freshman Adam Smith (Duncannon) and sophomore Caleb Wise (Manheim) of the Pennsylvania College of Technology tennis team earned Penn State University Athletic Conference All-Conference honors Monday. The team is comprised of nine men and women student-athletes from around the conference and is voted on by each institution's coaches. This is the first all-conference honor for both Smith and Wise.

The United States Collegiate Athletic Association announced its end-of-year All-American and All-Academic Team award-winners at the 2011 men's and women's soccer national championships this past weekend.Ten members of the Pennsylvania College of Technology men's and women's soccer team made the cut. All-Americans are determined by the USCAA based on athletic performance throughout the season.

Busy, busy, busy. That is the kind of week that Pennsylvania College of Technology sports teams face. Two Wildcat squads women's volleyball and men's cross-country will compete in United States Collegiate Athletic Association national championships, while three others men's and women's basketball and wrestling will begin their seasons.
