Random Acts of Kindness Week and Valentine’s Day stirred an abundance of affection across the Pennsylvania College of Technology campus, including outreach to the smallest of Wildcats in the Dunham Children’s Learning Center.

As if a high-profile football game wasn't enough, a pair of free Student Engagement-sponsored diversions – including a fanciful "Halfway to Summer Beach Party" that ushered in real-life 70-degree temps three days later – combined to fill students' weekend social calendars.

Pennsylvania College of Technology has again been nationally recognized for fostering a diverse and inclusive employment environment across its campuses. The college’s selection as one of 2023’s “Most Promising Places to Work in Student Affairs” was announced by Diverse: Issues in Higher Education magazine and The American College Personnel Association-College Student Educators International.

Pennsylvania College of Technology’s hospitality majors have gained American Culinary Federation reaccreditation through 2029. The college was given a seven-year grant of accreditation – the longest term conferred to an institution – by the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation Accrediting Commission.

BLaST Intermediate Unit 17 has joined with Pennsylvania College of Technology to offer a community documentary screening of “A Shot in the Dark” – a story about Anthony Ferraro, a blind high school wrestler who attempts to defy the odds and win a New Jersey state championship. The screening, at 6 p.m.

Wednesday was "Groff Day" at Penn College's Schneebeli Earth Science Center, where about 50 diesel technology students benefited from three learning sessions – along with enjoying a pizza lunch and a slew of giveaways. The day was made possible by Groff Tractor & Equipment, which sent four employees to the Allenwood-area campus to meet with students in advance of this month's Career Fair.

Students express themselves through floral design. The always-appealing work of students in Karen R. Ruhl's Art of Floral Design course, seasonally accented by the Valentine bear "stuffed" into the corner of the lobby, went on temporary display inside the Schneebeli Earth Science Center's main entrance on Wednesday.

Nearly 30 Penn College students, including fraternity brothers and Wildcat athletes, joined the Community Arts Center volunteer corps for comedian Bert Kreischer's Thursday performance at the historic downtown venue.
