Twenty-eight Pennsylvania College of Technology students have been selected by Levy Restaurants to help serve an expected crowd of more than 160,000 at the 2017 running of the storied Kentucky Derby on May 6. The Derby, an icon of Southern tradition, is the longest-running sporting event in the United States, first run at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky, in 1875 before a crowd of 10,000.

As part of an event that spanned 11 participating colleges – and the Northeast Pennsylvania Area Health Education Center – and involved 868 health and allied health students and nearly 150 health care professionals as facilitators, the eighth annual Collaborative Care Summit convened at Pennsylvania College of Technology on April 5.

Brittany R. Terpstra, a web and interactive media major from Jim Thorpe, has been chosen as the March “Student of the Month” at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Terpstra, described by her nominator as "putting herself 'out there' in a positive light," has served as the president and marketing coordinator for the Wildcat Events Board.
