Montoursville Area High School student Mason Morrow won first place – and the grand prize of a $10,000 scholarship to Pennsylvania College of Technology – in the 2023-24 Dream-Learn-Pitch competition. Dream-Learn-Pitch, administered by nonprofit Brighter Financial Futures/Pennsylvania Council on Financial Literacy, provides high school and middle school students with an opportunity to innovate and gain exposure to the world of entrepreneurship and small business.
A leading national provider of building technology and energy solutions is investing in students at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Climatec LLC has established a $2,000 annual scholarship that will give students the opportunity to begin or advance their education in building technologies. A Corporate Tomorrow Maker, Climatec is the largest privately owned building technologies provider in the nation.
Seventeen teenagers from Our Lady of Lourdes Regional School in Coal Township spent a day exploring the world of polymer engineering and manufacturing, thanks in part to Pennsylvania College of Technology. The college provided funding support through a PAsmart grant it received last year for the students to visit Sekisui Kydex in Bloomsburg, a renowned thermoplastics manufacturing company.
Thanks to the recent Student Government Association Auction, three Penn College students have received Student Leader Legacy Scholarships. The annual SGA Auction raised approximately $3,500, and three students were awarded $1,200 each. Over 70 supporters placed online bids or donated directly to the endowed scholarship fund.

Penn College automotive technology student Zachary A. Wiernusz is featured on the Piston Foundation's blog. An independent public charity that helps young car enthusiasts gain access to education and training to begin careers as classic car technicians, the foundation awarded Wiernusz a Piston Scholarship.
Penn College’s Construction Management Advisory Committee met this month, and as part of their business selected recipients for several Construction Management Scholarships, totaling over $10,000 in awards. The group also selected recipients for two commencement awards.
Six Pennsylvania College of Technology students were invited recently to tour Johnson Controls Airside Center of Excellence in York. The students are recipients of scholarships from Johnson Controls Inc., made possible through a $100,000 gift to the college’s heating, ventilation and air conditioning academic program for 2023-24.
The 48th annual National Collegiate Landscape Competition proved to be fertile territory for the talents of Pennsylvania College of Technology students enrolled in landscape/plant production technology. At the powerhouse event held in Provo, Utah, Penn College placed 16th overall among 50 schools and achieved eight top-10 finishes in various categories. One student was awarded a $1,000 scholarship.
Laura A. Snyder, of Harrisburg, a landscape/plant production technology student at Pennsylvania College of Technology, was awarded a $4,500 Pennsylvania Landscape & Nursery Association Foundation Scholarship. Snyder received her award at the PLNA 120th Anniversary Celebration & Education Summit, held recently at Longwood Gardens, Kennett Square.
