During a three-day Health Careers Camp on the Pennsylvania College of Technology campus, 40 teens will convene for a hands-on preview of several career options in the health and medical field. The camp, scheduled June 14-16, is offered jointly by the college and Susquehanna Health System to help students in their career search.

Twenty-seven students in the Physician Assistant Program at Pennsylvania College of Technology gained real-world experience while they served baseball teams 24 hours a day for 16 days during the recent Little League World Series in South Williamsport. The students, who are juniors and seniors in the program, provided urgent care for players, coaches and their hosts, or "uncles," from Aug.

Several students in the Paramedic Program at Pennsylvania College of Technology are volunteering their time, working seven- to 11-hour shifts, at the 2004 Little League World Series in South Williamsport.

Philadelphia area dental hygienists now have the opportunity to earn baccalaureate degrees to advance in their field thanks to a unique program using videoconferencing technology. The bachelor of science degree course work in dental hygiene will be delivered from Pennsylvania College of Technology, in Williamsport, to a classroom at Montgomery County Community College.

Thanks to an agreement between a private, liberal arts college and a public college of technology, advanced education in dental hygiene is now available in the Philadelphia area. Starting this fall, Pennsylvania College of Technology will offer its bachelor of science degree in dental hygiene at Harcum College, in Bryn Mawr.

The Physician Assistant major at Pennsylvania College of Technology has earned provisional accreditation, giving it the distinction of being the only approved physician assistant program at a state-related public college or university in Pennsylvania.
