Pennsylvania College of Technology physical therapist assistant students recently provided an activity-filled morning to 70 elementary school children in the college’s Field House. Seeking a service-learning project, students invited special education classes from Jersey Shore Area, Loyalsock Township, South Williamsport Area and Williamsport Area school districts to a jungle-themed event, dubbed “Wildcat Kids in Motion."

Pennsylvania College of Technology will hold three commencement ceremonies May 16-17 for the 885 students who have petitioned to graduate following the Spring 2025 semester. Nearly 750 students will march at the ceremonies, all of which are ticketed events to be held at the Community Arts Center. All of the ceremonies will be livestreamed.

The Physical Therapist Assistant Recruitment Day, held recently in the atrium of the Breuder Advanced Technology & Health Sciences Center, connected a number of employers with the Penn College talent they are seeking. The event was among 12 major-specific recruitment opportunities organized by Career Services during Spring 2025.

An article by Lisa M. Dostick, clinical supervisor of Pennsylvania College of Technology’s radiography program, was featured in Radiologic Technology Review, a student-focused magazine published by Radiologix. Dostick’s article was titled “Administration of Contrast: Understanding Your Role as a Future Technologist."

A new “tool” in Pennsylvania College of Technology’s physical therapist assistant program is enhancing students’ hands-on learning experience. The program recently began using a SynDaver G3 anatomy model, a medical-grade silicone model of the human neuromuscular, vascular and organ systems.

A unique anatomy competition, hosted recently by Pennsylvania College of Technology, connected students from 12 Pennsylvania high schools with future health career opportunities as they proved their knowledge in a gaming-style contest. Wellsboro Area High School took first place in the inaugural Penn College Anatomage Regional Tournament.

Four employers will offer “pop-up” recruiting events March 18-20. Interested students should stop by with their resumes to learn about internship and career opportunities.

Three dental hygiene students recently learned by teaching in the college’s Children’s Learning Center. As part of a Community Dental Health class project, students worked with 4- and 5-year-olds at the center, teaching them about the effects of nutrition on oral health, cavities and how they occur, and brushing technique.

WNEP-TV reported on today’s Penn College Regional Anatomage Tournament, which brought 20 teams from 12 Pennsylvania high schools to campus to test their anatomy skills. The local ABC affiliate interviewed the college’s Elizabeth S. Gizenski, director of surgical technology, as well as an Anatomage representative and a student from Benton High School.

WNEP-TV’s Mackenzie Aucker squeezed through a crowded Bardo Gymnasium on Tuesday to report on Penn College’s Spring Career Fair. Amid the buzz of networking, Aucker interviewed current students and company representatives about the demand for the college’s tomorrow makers and their hands-on technical skills.
