A $5,000 matching grant toward the purchase of a new lumber-drying kiln chamber at Pennsylvania College of Technology has been provided by the Lumber Heritage Region of Pennsylvania Inc. through Community Conservation Partnerships Program funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Bureau of Recreation and Conservation.

The Pennsylvania College of Technology Woodsmen’s Team traveled to the Pisgah National Forest in North Carolina to compete in the 21st Annual John Palmer Intercollegiate Woodsmen’s Meet on Oct. 1. The kiln will enhance the industry-standard curriculum for students in Penn College's two-year forest technology major.
Pennsylvania College of Technology has been honored with “Tree Campus USA” recognition for its commitment to effective urban forest management. Tree Campus USA is a national program created in 2008 by the Arbor Day Foundation to honor colleges and universities for effective campus forest management and for engaging employees and students in conservation goals.
