More than a dozen Student Leadership & Involvement Awards – informally referred to as "The Engagies" – were presented Thursday evening in the Keystone Dining Room, honoring a committed group of Penn College student leaders, their faculty/staff mentors and the organizations they embrace in the service of campus and community alike.

Ten faculty members have successfully completed the Penn College Institute for Faculty Leadership, receiving certificates during a brief ceremony Friday afternoon in the Thompson Professional Development Center. The series, intended to assist those who may be interested in future leadership roles, involved 14 once-a-week sessions from January through April.

As students get ready for final exams, Dining Services is reliably alongside them – hosting several events, providing specials and treats, to fuel the body while scholars feed their minds. The fun kicked off Wednesday evening with a Beach Party at Capitol Eatery.

Sue A. Kelley, dean of the School of Business, Arts & Sciences at Pennsylvania College of Technology, recently served as a panelist at Penn State Schreyer Honors College’s Connect Alumni Career Day. The career exploration gathering is the largest career-related event offered each year to Schreyer Honors Scholars, giving them the opportunity to network and learn from Schreyer alumni.

On April 23, 16 Pennsylvania College of Technology physical therapist assistant students – joined by Victoria Hurwitz, program director – partnered with Trailing Pines Tree Farm to plant 170 tree seedlings for conservation. The farm is a partner of the Keystone Ten Million Tree Partnership/Chesapeake Bay Foundation.

Troy E. Records Jr., set to graduate from Pennsylvania College of Technology next month with two information technology degrees, was chosen as a Conference Associate for last month's Game Developers Conference at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco.

Students in the Community Health Nursing course recently provided a round of one-hour wellness courses for Pennsylvania College of Technology employees.

A muse for all seasons, in true creature comfort Author Tom Speicher will sign copies of “A Week with Waffles” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at The Otto Bookstore, 107 W. Fourth St., in downtown Williamsport. That coincides with the real Waffles’ naptime, unfortunately, so she will be unable to attend.
